As you can probably tell by my username, I'm a Liverpool fan.
I made the journey to Anfield South yesterday hoping to see us cruise to yet another victory in Cardiff. As the locals told me how much they'd prefer us to win than the "gibletsney thingys" (their words not mine) I obviously hoped that their wishes would be granted.
As far as the game went I was disapointed that we didn't build upon the early goal by Riise. We clearly paid you more respect than necessary and defended our slender lead.
Obviously the balance of attacking play lie with Chelsea for the majority of the match, although you do wonder what the end result would have been had Gerrard netted that sitter and not scored for your lot.
Probably a fair result at the end, although you were hardly world beaters and if you play like that against Barcelona you can kiss good bye to the quarter finals.
However, following your win yesterday I was truley amazed out how pathetic your support is.
Comparing the two ends of the ground, whilst one was decked in red and white with banners containing witty phrases and the like, you managed to conjur up a few St.George's crosses and flags which you bought outside the ground.
Not only this but I never heard a peep from you for the entirity of the match, barr a few bursts of noise when you scored.
Even when the final whistle went you couldn't hear you, all that could be heard was a rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone.
Does that not embaress you at all?
You win your first cup for about 6 years and you can't even be arsed to sing when the trophy is lifted?
I knew that your bunch of support are far more interested in starting fights than they are singing but I was honestly amazed about how crap you lot were.
You can call me bitter and all the rest, give the usual scouser jibes but you know, really, in your heart of hearts, that your support yesterday was pitiful.
Anyway, enjoy your success yesterday, and perhaps you'll no longer be referring to it as a "mickey mouse cup".
With any luck you won't win the league because if I'm honest I think you're the biggest example of a nothing club in this division.
No history
No support
No pride
But then again you're successful, which I suppose for the shallow hearted football fans is what honestly matters.
With any luck we'll knock you out of the Champions League although no doubt we'll be refused the usual 3 clear penaltys and then get beat by a deflected goal.
